Irby Pace, a 2008 Texas Tech graduate, creates an interesting type of artwork.

Pace was in the visual arts program at Tech with Rick Dingus and Robin Germany, where he worked on studio art photography. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography.

Dingus, an art professor, said he taught Pace  photography and Pace is thoughtful, creative and hardworking.

“He’s interested in kinda posing questions and challenging our assumptions and helping to make us rethink what we’re seeing,” Dingus said.

Germany, an associate professor of art, said she had Pace in her lighting class and he is dedicated and energetic.

“I think he does a great job innovating ideas,” Germany said. “He takes a lot of risks which is great for an artist.”

Pace’s talent is portrayed throughout his many pieces of unique work.

“I do multiple things,” Pace said. “Some things I do are drawings, but then I mix photography into it in some way.”
